Last week NPR’s Linda Holmes posted a rant on the elimination of the serial comma that was after my own heart.

As a self-proclaimed “word person,” I cringe when someone says “less than,” when they should say “fewer than.” I fume if see “over” printed in a place where it should say “more than,” and don’t even get me started on “first annual.”

But as soon as I get free range, I embrace the evolving nature of language. And I love it. (See what I did there?)
